Download Pokémon Xenoverse
A free, Windows-native fan game. Here's exactly where to get it and how to install it.

Is Pokémon Xenoverse a GBA ROM?
No. This is a common misconception spread by some download-aggregator sites that mislabel it under "Game Boy Advance" — we found at least three sites doing this during our research. Pokémon Xenoverse is a standalone Windows PC game built with RPG Maker XP, running on the mkxp-z engine — it has no connection to the GBA and does not run in a Game Boy emulator. Read the full explanation on our About page.
A note on the version number
Version information differs between the sources we could independently verify: a community project listing last edited in 2022 states version 1.4.0, while an unofficial 2023 archival upload references 1.5.5. We could not confirm which figure reflects what's currently served on the official site, because that page sits behind an automated bot-check our research tools can't get past. Treat the version number shown on the official download page itself, at the time you visit, as the accurate one — we'll update this note once we can verify it directly.
Where to Get It
Official Developer Source
WeedleTeam's own official website — the only source we can confirm is genuinely first-party.
Get the English Version ↗Opens www.weedleteam.com in a new tab. PokemonXenoverse.com does not host game files.
We deliberately do not list a second "mirror" download button. The GameJolt page some searches surface is an outdated, third-party fan listing (see FAQ below), and ROM-aggregator sites misrepresent the game entirely — neither belongs here.
Installing on Windows
- Go to the official source above and locate the current download link.
- Download the archive (a compressed file).
- Extract it fully to its own folder using 7-Zip or WinRAR — don't run it from inside the compressed archive.
- Run
XenoverseLauncher.exeinside the extracted folder. The launcher lets you choose between the newer engine (mkxp-z, recommended by the developers) and an older/classic engine. - Choose English (or Italian) when prompted on first launch.
Known launcher issue: crash on the newer engine
The game supports two engines — an older/classic one and a newer one (mkxp-z), which the developers recommend. However, launching the newer engine directly through the launcher can crash. Two workarounds, both community-documented:
- Run the newer engine's executable directly instead of through the launcher (inside the extracted folder, look for a path like
Xenoverse-public-x.x.xx\Xenoverse\Game_n.exe). - Or switch the launcher's engine option to the older/classic engine, which starts without this launcher issue (you may see a separate, harmless error during the intro video — just click OK/"okay" to continue).
English version
Xenoverse ships with both English and Italian built in — you don't need a separate "English download," just select English when the game first launches or from its settings menu.
Playing on Android
There is no native Android build. Android play is possible through JoiPlay — but the Google Play Store version of JoiPlay does not support the engine this game needs. See our full Android & JoiPlay guide for the correct setup.
Playing on Mac
There is no native macOS build. Mac users typically run the Windows version through a compatibility layer such as Wine or CrossOver, or a Windows virtual machine. This isn't officially supported by the developers — treat it as an experimental path rather than a guaranteed one.
Common Problems
- Game crashes when launched via the launcher: see the launcher/engine callout above.
- Won't launch, black screen, or performance issues: see our Troubleshooting guide.
Safety FAQ
Is Pokémon Xenoverse free?
Yes. It is a free fan-made game — no purchase is required from any legitimate source.
Is it safe to download?
Only download it from the source listed on this page. Avoid ROM-aggregator or "direct download" mirror sites — several of these bundle unrelated installers, display misleading ads, or (as with at least three sites we checked) simply mislabel what this game even is.
Does PokemonXenoverse.com host the game file?
No. We do not host, mirror, or sell the Pokémon Xenoverse installer. This page links to the developer's own official site.
Why can’t I load the official site immediately?
The official WeedleTeam site runs an automated browser security check ("Verifying you are human…") before the page loads. This is a normal anti-bot measure, not a sign anything is wrong — wait a few seconds and it will pass through.
Is the GameJolt page for Xenoverse official?
No. The GameJolt listing some searches turn up is run by a third-party fan ("ant4456"), who states directly on the page: "This is not my fangame... I've created this listing to bring awareness." It also hosts a five-year-old, long-outdated 0.1.0 launcher file. We don't recommend it — use the official WeedleTeam site instead.
